Minecraft Server Public

As Promised I would post the details to my Minecraft server once I had sorted it out. It’s now officially public.

We already have some new people who joined our little community and had a few less desirable encounters which is no surprise but the atmosphere is great. I forgot how much work it was to administrate a server but it’s good to keep busy.

I’m currently working on a new spawn building as the one I created for the launch is incredibly simple, hardly impressive. I want people to have a sense of fun when they first join, So a water slide tower it is!

On another note, Tera Closed Beta has ended, I quite enjoyed playing a little bunny girl. Hopefully in a week’s time I get to play in the Tera open beta and *Fingers Crossed* Guild Wars 2 Beta.

It’s been a while.

I’ve been so busy that I completely forgot I had a Tumblr. Upon seeing it again I couldn’t wait to start writing articles again. 

So what have I been up to? I’m still playing World of Warcraft, I now do top-end raiding with my Discipline Atonement Priest (For those who play World of Warcraft I’ve got 5/8 Heroic Dragon Soul and 400iLVL). I transferred to Horde and to another realm but of late I’ve been bored with WoW so I only really go on to raid. 

So since I’m not really playing World of Warcraft anymore, What am I doing?

Well I’ve gone back to playing Minecraft for a start. I run my own server which is White-listed, But I’m working on making it public, I will post here with details about the server if you wish to come and visit me and my friends once it’s made public.

But I’ve also been playing Forsaken World, It’s a free to play MMO It’s good for it being free but there isn’t much content and a lot of it is repetitive, I play a Bard:

But most importantly what I really want to talk about is what I’m most excited about, 

Guild Wars 2!

I’ve Pre-Purchased so I’m now anxiously waiting for the first Beta Event. I can’t wait! I’ve been obsessing about this game ever since I seen the Manifesto video, No other game has ever gotten me this excited, It’s so strange to be so passionate about a game.

I’ve seen loads of videos on youtube about it, Read articles, Follow their facebook & twitter. I even read the two Lore Books, Also tried Guild Wars 1 for a couple of days but that game is nothing like the upcoming one, I didn’t enjoy it.

That said, I’m usually sceptic about hype around games, I never believed it when people said Rift or Star Wars : The Old Republic would beat World of Warcraft but I have no doubt that Guild Wars 2 will deliver at least to a large extend. Which is saying something.

For those who have doubts I’d say have an open mind, Watch and Read more about it but most of all to keep in mind that Guild Wars 2 will be free to play, You only have to buy the box. So why not try it before judging?

Update Time!

It’s been a while since I’ve posted on Tumblr so here’s what’s been going on!

I haven’t been playing minecraft much but I’m loving all the new stuff for the updates. I have been pretty obsessed with playing World of Warcraft instead,Yes I know jumped on the bandwagon a bit late!

I just haven’t had that sense of community playing Minecraft on the server I played on so I hope to find a nice bunch of people to play with again between the WoW grinds! Also I haven’t had many ideas for things to build, Creative burn out?

It’s not that the people I was playing with before weren’t nice, They are lovely people and I plan to stay in touch with some of them, It’s just that things changed and many of them now wish to play the game differently from how I enjoy playing it. So it’s time to find like-minded crafters!

Also my Real life (I know there really is such a thing!) has been pretty hectic, I moved and had some serious internet problems which seem to have been resolved for now. So hopefully things will start looking up from now on!

Oh that’s fine :D And no I didn’t freak out because in the end he’s just another person too :) although I did find it funny when he had done that and it was before the diggy diggy hole incident.. made me wonder if he was secretly singing it when he was digging me in and throwing bacon at me! I think it would be virtually impossible now to get that kind of experience with him, with there being so many yognaughts now and the little time he has. Shame really!

So here’s the deal, make a new world in minecraft, make the world name your tumblr name.
Start the game, set the difficulty to normal AND ONLY NORMAL!
Play until you die, when you die, convert your world into a .zip file and put it onto a file sharing site
Post a link to that site and label the post ‘I HAVE DIED. TIME TO PASS THE WORLD’ and let other people download your world to do the play until they die.
They will then convert in to a .zip file, etc…
Delete the world from your home computer.
Sometime in the future you may download a world from someone else who has posted the same thing to find that it was once your world!

Pixel Art

So I figured out that between crashing many times and not being able to read the chat I can actually build stuff on The Angry Dinosaur server! So I’ve started making Pixel Art and I must say it’s rather addicting! Me and one of the Residents Heroface plan to make a huuuuge Pixel Art wall which I will post a picture of when it’s done.

So far I made a pink baby Yoshi, Yoshi egg, A cloud from the mario games, GIR and Darth vader. Here’s Two of them (Ignore the missing chunks, My internet is just too slow to effectively load them):

On another note, Notch and his team are working on updating/fixing Minecraft:

Minecraft.net is suffering some difficulties at the moment, with the database getting overloaded. We’re working hard on fixing the problem.

In the meantime, I’ve uploaded the new game launcher, which you can download from here once the servers are back up and running.

The biggest updates in there are that it shows the latest update news, logs in over https, it asks if you want to update or keep playing on the current installed version, only downloads modified files.

Good videos! Made me laugh quite a few times :) and your skin is really funny in a creepy way. They should’ve made creepers look like that, Then people would die from fear instead of just from exploding into a million bits.

Single Player Mods

So my internet hasn’t been working for weeks now and I’m having to do with a mediocre connection instead (Think in the direction of dial-up) But it’s given me a lot of time to try out Single Player mods, I’ve installed several so far.

I’ve got the zombe mod (Which I already had), Mo’ Creatures, MoreCreeps & Weirdos, Nekos and Fairy Mod and for days now I’ve been Breeding Horses, Incubating Sharks, collecting birds looking for Cats, Guinea pigs and Fairy’s:

I found two fertile Pegasus (Note I been doing a lot of re-texturing mobs/texturepack/gui etc.) And decided to name them Simon and Lewis after which I decided to breed them and realized just how awkward that was ^^ They gave birth to a son called Israphel (See a theme here?).

Israphel grew up and met Granny Bacon, Together they made Jasper (Getting weirder still!).

Granny Bacon ran off with a stranger so Israphel made love to his son Jasper and made a son called Braeburn (Yup now it’s gone beyond weird to plain disturbing!).

I gathered two Shark Eggs and Incubated them in a large Aquarium next to my house and named them Lysander and Old Peculier, They’ve grown up now and are quite happy with their view!

I also collected all the birds, Took a picture of them and decided to name them after my friends at the mc.angrydinosaur.co.uk:26165 server and made a little joke out of the picture (Pretty much all inside jokes I’m afraid ^^).

I’ve Now also got a tamed housecat I have yet to name him/her.

A Fairy Companion who is brilliant at saving me from falling to my death! Yet to name her also.

And I’ve started a Guinea Pig Army, I’ve only got one black one so far, I’ve not yet named him however the mod itself allocates names to the guinea pigs (Can’t wait till the person who made the mod allows you to give them your own names). This one is called Butchie but I will name it myself once I thought of a name.

All in all, All these mods are awesome and really add depth and variety to SP gameplay, I would definitely recommend adding all of them to your game and to have a look around for other mods out there, it will enrich your minecraft experience. (Note that these mods also add Hostile Mobs however there are options to choose which ones you want in your game or not).

I met Simon today (Honeydew) From yogscast :D! He trapped me in a dirt hole and threw bacon at me but let me out like a Gentleman!
